Brandywine School District presents... Pieces of a Dream, Inc.'s UPRISING

Join Brandywine School District in celebrating Black History Month with a special performance by Pieces of a Dream, Inc.  Under the direction of Brandywine High School alumna Ashley SK Davis, Pieces of a Dream, Inc. will be performing UPRISING: Remembrance, Resistance, Revival. 
UPRISING is a reflection on the 1968 turmoil in Wilmington following Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination and the nine month National Guard occupation of the city.  Pieces of a Dream, Inc. shares this important moment in our state's history through modern dance, performed to a soundscape of music, spoken word, and poetry.  UPRISING: Remembrance, Resistance, Revival was originally commissioned by the Delaware Art Museum with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
